Cumberland County PTA Council Awarded SPICE Grant

Cumberland Community Foundation is partnering with the Cumberland County PTA Council on a new grant program. The SPICE (Strengthening Parent Involvement in Children’s Education) Grant program is designed to help families and communities improve education by increasing parental involvement in Cumberland County Schools.

Local PTA units in Cumberland County will have the opportunity to apply for grants of up to $1,000 to fund programs that increase parental involvement in their schools.

Research shows that children perform better in school if their parents and families are involved. Jointly recognizing the significant impact of family involvement, Cumberland Community Foundation and the Cumberland County PTA Council have joined together to support Cumberland County’s children and the people that care for them.

The outstanding work of the award winners will be recognized at the 2016 NCPTA State Convention.

There are numerous ways to honor an outstanding teacher, principal, school administrator, volunteer, or your PTA.  There are also three Membership Enrollment Recognition Awards available: Gold Acorn, Ruby Acorn, and Silver Acorn.

We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to say “thank you” to deserving people who have contributed greatly to improving the lives of children and youth.  Only PTA units in good standing are eligible to apply.
