Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an 8-hour course that teaches community members how to help someone in the youth population who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. For more details on the Mental Health First Aid program, click here.

Thank you for your interest in applying to become a Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) instructor. The upcoming “Train the Trainer” state-wide events will certify an instructor to teach the 8-hour community course in Youth Mental Health First Aid. Please review all items in the packet below, complete the application  for the location of interest in full, and return it to Elle Evans Peterson, Director of Family Engagement, NCPTA, at elle@ncpta.org. Applications are due by the dates below. Spots for the training are extremely limited and priority will be given to applications received by the deadline.
