There are numerous ways to honor an outstanding teacher, principal, school administrator, volunteer, or your PTA. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to say “thank you” to deserving people who have contributed greatly to improving the lives of children.

PTAs Must Be In Good Standing with NCPTA to apply for an award.

The Nomination Process for the Annual Awards is now open and closes April 20th.

NCPTA Community Partner of the Year Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize and pay tribute to a community partner who has made outstanding contributions in the field of education that benefit students, families, and the community. Through PTA engagement, this nominee has worked to fulfill the PTA Vision to make every child’s potential a reality. This award is open to for-profit and non-profit community partners.

NCPTA Gwin G. Hughes Healthy Living Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize and pay tribute to a local unit’s programming that features advocacy activities that promote overall wellness including social-emotional, physical, and/or mental health.

NCPTA Outstanding Student Service Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize and pay tribute to a student who has made outstanding contributions to the PTA through service. Through PTA service, this nominee has worked to fulfill the PTA Vision to make every child’s potential a reality.

NCPTA Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize an exceptional and enthusiastic PTA volunteer. PTA officers and board members are eligible for this award. Through PTA engagement, this nominee has worked to fulfill the PTA Vision to make every child’s potential a reality. The nominee must be a non-school employee.

NCPTA Principal of the Year Award:
The purpose of this award is to recognize and pay tribute to a principal who has made outstanding contributions in the field of education that benefits students, teachers, and families through PTA engagement. This award is open to all principals. Through PTA engagement, this nominee has worked to fulfill the PTA Vision to make every child’s potential a reality.

NCPTA Superintendent of the Year Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize and pay tribute to a central office superintendent who has made outstanding contributions in the field of education that benefit all school families and the community. Through PTA involvement, this nominee has worked to fulfill the PTA Vision to make every child’s potential a reality.

NCPTA Teacher of the Year Award: A Champion for Children
The purpose of this award is to recognize and pay tribute to a teacher who has made outstanding contributions in the field of education that benefits students while engaging families. This award is open to all classroom teachers, including specialty teachers such as music, art, special needs, PE, etc.

NCPTA Advocacy Local Unit of the Year Award
The purpose of the award is to recognize and pay tribute to a local PTA unit who has made outstanding efforts in their advocacy programming this year.

NCPTA Program Local Unit of the Year Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize and pay tribute to a local PTA unit who has hosted an outstanding program that advances the PTA mission to make every child’s potential a reality.

NCPTA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Local Unit of the Year Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize and pay tribute to a local unit that champions practices and programming that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion that results in positive changes at their school.
