North Carolina PTA leaders attended a press conference about teacher compensation at the Governor’s Mansion on June 25. Governor McCrory, Speaker Tillis, school administrators, teachers and education advocates gathered for an announcement that included a proposal to raise teacher compensation, not cut additional teacher assistants and provide funding for textbooks.
