NCPTA is North Carolina’s oldest and largest volunteer organization advocating for the education, health, safety, and success of all children and youth while building strong families and communities. The overall purpose of PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

TRY has worked in underserved populations in Durham since 1992, was founded as a 501c3 in 2003, began operating statewide in 2012, and currently in several states and internationally in Kenya. TRY prevents behavioral and physical health challenges among youth and adults as an outgrowth of adverse experiences and/or trauma. The primary focus is substance use (prevention through recovery), violence, and chronic disease using a grassroots framework.
