NCPTA Supports HB 919 Reinstate Funding for Driver Education

HB 919 Funding for Driver Education. State funding for driver education is set to expire this year. HB 919 reinstates this funding by providing a dedicated funding stream to continue state funding for driver education. This bill funds the Driver Education Program, while reducing the allowable fee from $65 to $45 and creates a funding stream with fees beginning in 2016-2017. House Defeats HB 1224 by 54-47

The House today defeated HB 1224, a local sales tax options bill that was tied to a teacher assistant funding fix and an economic incentive program.  HB 1224 would have capped Wake County and Forsyth County sales tax at 2.5%.
