The North Carolina PTA applauds students and PTA families across the state for participating in PTA Reflections, a national arts recognition program that encourages students to explore their talents and express themselves. NCPTA hosted the annual Reflections Celebration on April 5 in Raleigh. Hundreds attended the celebration, and more than 80 students were recognized for their talents. National PTA invites student entries each year for a Reflections Theme Search. The student who submits the winning entry for 2014-2015 will receive $100, and his or her theme will be presented at the 118th Annual National PTA Convention and Exhibition in Austin, Texas, June 19-22, 2014. NCPTA announces the following state-level winners for the Reflections 2014-2015 Theme Search: “Coexist…” Collin Carter, Holly Springs High, Holly Springs “To Serve is…” Collin Carter, Holly Springs High, Holly Springs “Color my world!” Graham Carter, Holly Ridge Middle, Holly Springs “Family Is…” Makayla Key, Aycock Middle, Greensboro “Because We Care…” Kema Leonard, Kernodle

It’s that time of year again! Encourage creativity and lifelong learning while offering recognition for artistic endeavors. The PTA Reflections Program is designed to enhance quality arts education for students in preschool through grade 12. If your county is listed at this link, then you need to submit Reflections entries through the appropriate PTA Council. Please check your county’s information for the number of allowable entries, deadline, mailing address, and any additional requirements for sending entries to the next level of judging.

District winners have been selected for 2012-2013. View a full list of category placements for dance, film, literature, music, photography and visual arts. District winners move on to the state-level competition.

Students can now submit ideas for the 2014-2015 Reflections Theme. The student who submits the winning entry will receive $100, and his or her theme will be presented at the 117th Annual National PTA Convention and Exhibition. Theme Search Entry deadline is November 19, 2012.
