(December 14, 2012)—The following statement can be attributed to National PTA® President Betsy Landers: National PTA feels enormous sympathy for the students, families and communities affected by the horrendous tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., today.  Our country has experienced far too many of these tragedies, and we all share in the sense of loss and hurt. Creative Ideas Emerge at Parent Education Conference

The North Carolina PTA hosted hundreds of parents, educators and students from across the state in Raleigh at the annual NCPTA Parent Education Conference April 27-28 at the Hilton North Raleigh. Conference presentations and workshops focused on arts in education; the complexity of school funding, healthy school environments, measuring effective teaching, and tools for the new Standard Course of Study.
