Smart from the Start: Community Outreach provides PTA Regions, Districts and Councils with tools and resources to educate families of children ages 3-5 and partner with a local neighborhood community to improve awareness of energy balance concepts. Energy balance is finding a balance between the calories we consume through what we eat and drink and the calories we burn through physical activity.
National PTA will award 10 grants of $10,000 each to PTA Regions, Districts and Councils.
Grant Terms
Grant funding must be spent between June 1, 2014 and September 30, 2015.
How to Apply
Review the Request for Proposals for additional information about funding requirements, selection criteria, eligibility, key dates and other specific application components. Once you have reviewed the Request for Proposals, apply online. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 28, 2014 at 5 p.m. EST/2 p.m. PST.

National PTA and the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation will host a webinar to review the grant requirements, online application process and resources available.
PTAs that participate in one of these webinars will receive five bonus points toward their application score.
