Public schools in North Carolina can access free wellness programs to help create healthier school environments for students and staff. Each program has a unique assessment that provides wellness teams with graded reports and specific, tailored feedback on areas for improvement. School wellness teams or School Health Advisory Councils (SHACs) develop separate action plans for each assessment that describes goals and objectives for staff and student wellness.
