NCSU Emerging Issues Forum Focuses on Teachers and the Great Economic Debate

February 10-11, 2014
Raleigh Convention Center

Participate in the Emerging Issues Forum to discuss how to train, retain, and promote a world-class teaching workforce to secure our state’s future competitiveness.

Education in our state has changed dramatically in recent years. Debates swarm around student achievement, quality instruction, and how best to help our next generation of citizens create good jobs, grow our economy, and engage in our communities.

Effective teachers can influence a student’s achievement and earnings potential throughout their life, setting them on a path for success. We need to ensure high quality, effective teachers in every classroom for every student in North Carolina.

The 2014 Emerging Issues Forum, Teachers and the Great Economic Debate, will serve as a launch pad for discussing these opportunities in our state. Speakers will provide different education perspectives from North Carolina, other states, and around the world. The forum provides an opportunity to make some decisions about the best paths forward, identify important next steps, and help move North Carolina in the right direction.
