An interactive and collaborative meeting for health and wellness chairs, advocacy chairs, and PTA officers, we’ll dig deep into our Health and Wellness Advocacy Priorities and develop our PTA vision of what a healthy and successful school looks like in 2020. NCPTA Lobby Day Scheduled for March 14

The annual NCPTA Lobby Day is Tuesday, March 14th. This is a great opportunity to build legislative support for our schools and showcase PTAs across the state. We’ll meet in the morning to attend committee hearings and set up individual meetings with legislators for afternoon visits. If you’re interested in participating, please RSVP below by February 20. We will hold a Lobby Day training webinar on February 28 at 7 p.m. for lobby day participants in preparation for the March 14 Lobby Day. Registration is closed. Washington GT Magnet Elementary PTA Hosts Hispanic Cultural Night

On April 12, the Washington GT Magnet Elementary School PTA hosted a Hispanic Cultural Night as a learning event for students and a community building and family engagement event for school families.  Washington Elementary is one of the most diverse schools in Wake County.  One of the goals of the Washington PTA is to increase diversity on its board and at all PTA and school events. Last year, the Washington PTA was one of fifty schools nationwide to be awarded a grant from the National PTA for events during “Take Your Family to School Week” in February 2015.  As part

NCPTA Advocacy Day is June 14

PTA members are invited to join NCPTA leaders for Advocacy Day at the North Carolina General Assembly on June 14 beginning at 8:30 a.m. We will meet in the Legislative Auditorium located in the main Legislative Building at 16 West Jones Street in Raleigh. Advocacy Day gives members the opportunity to learn firsthand about the State legislative process, make appointments with legislators, and discuss short session hot topics. PTA Leaders Join in Guilford County for NCPTA Back-to-School Training

Nearly 70 local unit and council leaders joined NCPTA in Guilford on September 12 for the first of the Ready Set Go! back-to-school trainings. Participants came from as far away as Moore County. Ready Set Go! is an intensive 5 hour training that combines NCPTA’s most in-demand leadership topics with the opportunity to action plan and problem solve with NCPTA experts. Ready Set Go! will be in Greenville on September 19 and Asheville on September 26.
