Social Media Intern

The North Carolina Parent Teacher Association (NCPTA) is the state’s oldest and largest volunteer organization advocating for the education, health, safety and success of all children and youth while building strong families and communities. PTAs across North Carolina impact more than 685,000 children and their families.

NCPTA is looking for a Social Media Intern during Fall Semester 2017. Responsibilities will include monitoring and posting to our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest), and participating in online outreach and promotion. Hours are flexible, but likely five (5) to ten (10) hours per week. This is an unpaid internship, but the successful applicant will register for course credit.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Executive Director to create and implement campaigns
  • Create engaging social media content
  • Develop content calendars on a weekly and monthly basis for programs
  • Monitor analytics on various platforms
  • Provide support at live events as schedule allows

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree student in Marketing with an emphasis/interest in Digital Media or related field
  • 2+ years’ experience in social media/marketing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest and Google applications
  • Experience with social media analytics, including Google Analytics and Facebook Insights preferred
  • Knowledge of Canva, Adobe Pro, or iContact desirable
