PTA Votes to Support Safer Routes to School

At the 2012 Annual PTA Convention and Exposition, PTA leaders voted to support safer routes for bicycling and walking to school. In support of this effort, hundreds of PTAs participate in International Walk to School Day every year. This year’s Walk to School Day is October 3. To register, visit http://www.walkbiketoschool.org/. If the route to your school is not safe enough to organize families to walk or bike to school, your PTA may want to organize a walk on the school grounds and gather parents and teachers together to get the conversation going about how to improve safety for future.
