NCPTA Gates Mini Grant NCPTA is pleased to announce that we will be distributing mini-grants in the amount of $250 to five local unit PTAs to expand the impact of our Gates Team work in the From Reports to Results Initiative. NCPTA COVID-19 Relief Funds for Internet Access and Devices

NCPTA is pleased to announce that we will be distributing $2,500 in COVID relief funds to two local units. This emergency grant funding is intended to allow your PTA to help meet the pressing needs of internet access and devices within your school community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The application opens on June 27, 2020.  Grant applications are due July 25, 2020.  Recipients will be announced on July 31, 2020.  Recipients must complete projects by October 2, 2020. Ten State Reflections Winners Place at National!

Congratulations to 2019-2020 Look Within National PTA Reflections winners from North Carolina! We are so proud to announce that ten NCPTA State Reflections winners have placed at the National PTA level of Reflections! One NCPTA winner has received the National Outstanding Interpretation Award, four NCPTA winners have received the National Awards of Excellence, and five have received National Awards of Merit. These national award recipients were chosen from nearly 1,000 student submissions. Of these submissions, 211 students were selected from 40 State PTA Congresses for national-level recognition. Family Code Week, April 13-18! 

Families now at home all over the country are signing up for a live, free one-hour event during next week’s Family Code Week.  It’s an online at-home learning experience at which K-5 children pair up with a parent or guardian to do their first hour of coding, together!  Kids and families love it.  All attendees receive a free Code@Home Guide to keep coding at home.  Offered live, 15 times next week, in English or Spanish.  Learn more and sign up – for English events here, for Spanish here. Announcements of New 2020 School Heroes Delayed

We look forward to announcing the 10 new NC School Heroes, but the coronavirus outbreak has created pressing issues for schools as educators create ways for our students to continue to learn during these difficult times. Since celebrating the new class of School Heroes requires the assistance of schools and their staff, the N.C. Education Lottery will delay the announcement and celebrations until circumstances allow. We look forward to giving each School Hero the recognition they deserve soon.
