Over 50 volunteers from the community, Western Carolina University, and Cullowhee Valley School came out to help build a new playground for the elementary school on August 15-16. Students with disabilities in grades 6-12 are invited to attend a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Career Showcase Wednesday, October 15 from 10 am to Noon at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet role models and learn more about STEM careers and many professional possibilities.
